A few of Sanga's memorable moments: Innings of 98 on a green top against South Africa at Centurion in 2001 - first Test ton against India at Galle in 2001 - first double century in Tests versus Pakistan at Lahore in 2002 - Sangakkara sledging Pollock in Durban in the 2003 World Cup - stitching highest-ever stand in all First-Class cricket versus South Africa in 2006 - believe-it-or-not stumping to dismiss Lara in the 2007 World Cup - heart-stirring knock of 192 against Australia at Hobart in 2007 - leading his country to World T20 final at Lord's in 2009 - captaining Sri Lanka to 50-over World Cup final in 2011 - MCC Spirit of Cricket Colin Cowdrey Lecture at Lord's in 2011 - match-winning ODI century at Wanderers in 2012 - World T20 triumph in 2014 - Sangakkara's first triple ton against Bangladesh in 2014 - first Test ton at Lord's in 2014 - of course he was ranked the No. 1 batsman on a few occasions and has amassed 11 double hundreds - second only to Sir Don Bradman. We hope we've got everything covered, sorry if we have missed out on a few.
Phew! That was a lot of stuff, hope you enjoyed all of it. So then, the Cricbuzz Cup is poised nicely at 1-1 with one game to go at the SSC. Virat Kohli and his boys were clinical with their performance in this game. After a stunning defeat at Galle, the team showed great character to bounce back and put up a strong performance. A new era will begin at the SSC for the hosts as the curtain comes down on an illustrious 15-year-old international career. Some big shoes to fill in, can Angelo Mathews get his troops together and sign off in style? Or will the visitors have the final say and register their first series win in Sri Lanka since 1993? The third Test begins on Friday. We hope to have you on-board again. Let's take a moment to congratulate the retiring legend on a stellar career and wish him all the best for the future. Thank You Sanga for all the memories. Goodbye!
